Democrats should let the subsidies expire

Why don’t Democrats just let the subsidies expire? Yes it will be awful. Yes 20 million people may lose healthcare as it becomes too expensive, but Republicans run all branches of the government. This is what people want, this is what people voted for.

I respect that Democrats want to do what is “right and good”, but where has that gotten them? Record low approval ratings and voted out of office.

Maybe people need to feel the consequences of their vote.

Update - just to clarify - I voted for Biden and then Harris in the last election. Nobody dislikes Trump more than me. I think he is a horrible person and horrible president. I support most of the Democrats policies and think they hold the moral high ground. The problem is how do you convince MAGAs that Trump is bad? Even after the chaos over the past 9 months they still think Trump is the best president ever. I’m fearful Democrats will lose the midterms and might lose in 2028 too. Yes - Democrats are protecting us from Trump awful policies - but in the end I’m concerned that will hurt Democrats at the polls and help Trump.
