andhra_jp Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Today, of the 6 years I have been with Amazon, is the toughest day on the job. This wave of layoffs hit real close to home and to say I am heartbroken is an understatement. Therefore, I started my day today setting expectations with all my stakeholders telling them “it’s not business as usual, I need to hold space for my peers today”. Some of the most brilliant, kind and amazing people I met and saw everyday, worked with on a daily basis, who have become friends over the years, who have shared into my joys and sorrows, have been impacted today and that makes it one of the toughest days of my professional career. That’s saying something because believe me when I tell you, Amazonians are put to test every single day on the job. You can’t be anything less than excellent on your job every single day! There is room for growth but, you can’t be here without bringing your A game everyday! We are moulded through grit, resilience and sheer mettle to survive the unexpected. So when I say it’s the toughest day, I mean it. To all my dear friends, peers, leaders and now former colleagues, I don’t want to wax nostalgic about the good times or say “the best is yet to come, there is light at the end of the tunnel or everything works out at the end”. You already know all of that. These layoffs have nothing to do with your skill or performance, everybody knows this with conviction. The only differentiating factor between you and someone who stayed on is mere luck! All I would like to say is you are extraordinary, the scale you have operated and delivered at is unmatched, you know that and your legacy is one for the books. I hope you can see that in this present moment when you may doubt yourself or your talent. Take a pause, think about all you have achieved and the glass ceiling you shattered and be proud! Take a moment to pat yourselves on the back before you are ready to take off again. It’s only a matter of time, I know this for a fact. To employers, recruiters and headhunters, you will not just be lucky to have these folks join you, believe me when I say, when you put them in all kinds of ambiguity, they will not just survive, they will thrive because by now, thriving in ambiguity is a part of their DNA. They are the champions of the big league, they will bring you a win every single time without fail. They will deliver and beyond your expectations. Grab them while you still can, they will not be long on the market. Today has been tough, but I know, tomorrow, and everyday after that, will begin again with hope. For today, I hope you pause, rest and reset. Until you are ready again, my network is yours. I wish every single person impacted today the very best! If I can be of any help in this time, please do not hesitate to reach out. If you need to talk, meditate together or just need to brainstorm together, I am right here. Thank you for your hard work, kindness, empathy and most importantly for being such amazing humans. Godspeed! Quote
andhra_jp Posted November 8 Author Report Posted November 8 Standing with Those Affected by Amazon's Recent Changes The news of 14,000 Amazonians losing their positions this week has left me truly heartbroken. I've been silent these past few days on LinkedIn, helping people behind the scenes but not publicly, still struggling to find the right words... and honestly, I'm still at a loss. Behind each number is a person with unique talents, dreams, and responsibilities. Some of you I have worked very closely with, and some of you I have never met. No matter what though, I see you, I value you, and I know your worth extends far beyond any single role. The skills, perspectives, and experiences you've gained are invaluable and will shine wherever you go next. More importantly though, I am that you are in this position and I want to help. In the background, I've been connecting affected colleagues with opportunities, making introductions to hiring managers, and reaching out to recruiters in my network. But this feels like a drop in the ocean compared to what you all deserve. While it might not be your first thought right now, Amazon does still have positions open in various departments that might align with your expertise. Maybe now is an opportunity to branch out: https://lnkd.in/gXRt8irH More important than where we work, I'd like this post to serve as a community resource: - If you've been affected, feel free to comment or DM me - If you're hiring, please share opportunities below - If you can offer resume reviews, interview prep, or simply a listening ear, also drop a message here - If I can help further with anyone that I directly know, please never hesitate to reach out. Go through my network, find someone you want me to introduce you to. This is a moment for our professional community to demonstrate what true connection means. Together, we can help these talented individuals find their next opportunity to thrive. No matter where that may be. Please reshare as well, spread this out there, increase the reach! hashtag#AmazonLayoffs hashtag#CommunitySupport hashtag#JobOpportunities hashtag#ProfessionalNetworking hashtag#Security hashtag#Jobs hashtag#Career Quote

The stack ranking fear in tech companies, make you feel you need to give more than 100% for survival. Things have changed a lot samara. If you end up in bottom 10% you will automatically flushed out in the disguise of PIP. @Sucker @Konebhar6 @kevinUsa Quote
