Three years ago, a wave arrived under that 10k visa stream, but half never landed jobs and simply went home.

The ones who stayed are mostly 30-plus, with no real route to a green card, poor English, and no clear way out—they’re stuck.

At my workplace we’ve got one guy from that batch.

He says, “No matter how hard I try, I can’t hit CLB 9 in English.”
