Not true. It was due to strong iranian and philipino lobby. Thanks to Dick durbin thatha for putting the last nail in the coffin. I did call many times to our state senators office and Mike Lee's office and wrote letters expressing support for it. IV even raised funds for it. I dont remember any desi openly opposing the bill. May be mesthri lobby worked against in the background to protect their financial interests.

most EADs going to IT through references or using husband as *****. Some with no IT skills are working in stores. Some are opeining home business like cooking, cakes etc

No way they will remove the country cap.. it is there for a reason.. 

for the same visas, they can add more restrictions and enforce existing rules.. that itself will cause lot of pain

You probably are atleast 10 years younger than me. Recent times lo H1Bs IT danda antha naku telidu but I work with giving Federal contracts to smaller companies. Naku tesinantha varaku private companies have more talent than Federal government, and most of my colleagues are pretty useless compared to corporate. The major reason for that is because you need to be a citizen to be employed in the Fed. If we are not retaining the talent in private companies then we are at fault.
