Not in southern states(except kerala) ,in northern states, a lot of Brahmins , rajputs converted to islam Entirety of muslims in Kashmir valley were Brahmins who were converted.

In southern states mostly BC castes converted to islam probably for some financial benefits given by the empire.

Ala ante why TG has more BC? Very few upper castes than Andhra. All royals converted to deshmukhs and many married into M upper class. Example Adit R Hydari.

Only very few families that too very recently ,her family was there for close to 500 years and only in last century they have married muslims.

O.c muslims in tg are 2% ,mostly they are migrants from north.so upper castes converting to muslims has nothing to do with b.c population.

You can't convert to deshmukh ,it's just a position with some privilages.

T.G has more B.C because of other historical reasons not muslim conversion.

Only in hyd muslims ,very rare in telugu muslims.
