Originally qin did military conquest and united all kingdoms of China by same law for everyone ,for the conquerors and conquered .

when it fell, a military general formed the han kingdom named after his original territory ,everyone under the kingdom started calling themselves as people of han.

U.s is a homogenous colonial country found by Britishers, rest of the ethnicities are just guests in the anglo country.although even the germans and dutch that have migrated to u.s are genetically close to Britishers still they have integrated into british culture.kind of like telugu people integrating with tamil culture.its more of white colonial country than anything.

Different religions ? U.s is 90% Christian ,rest of the people are just guests who are expected to keep their religion to their homes.

It clearly says han is based on cultural and linguistic similarities,I don't know what you are trying to prove.
