Indian-American diplomat Mahvash Siddiqui has alleged rampant fraud in the H-1B visa system, claiming 80–90% of applications from India were fake. She says that during her tenure at the US Consulate in Chennai (2005–2007), officials repeatedly flagged the issue to Washington, but political pressure prevented any action.
