The CPI(M) announced that it will conduct a bike rally on Wednesday (November 26) from Undavalli CPI(M) office to CRDA office in Rayapudi, demanding urgent action on long-pending issues faced by residents and farmers of the Amaravati capital region.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, CPI(M) Guntur district committee member and capital division secretary M. Ravi, along with district committee member and Tadepalli town secretary Buruga Venkateswarlu, said that the rally was being organised ahead of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s scheduled visit to the capital region on November 28.

They expressed hope that the Central government would respond positively to the long-standing grievances of Amaravati residents. They plan to submit a formal representation to officials at the CRDA office after the rally, urging immediate interventions.

They demanded that the ₹15,000 crore loan extended by the Asian Development Bank for the construction of Amaravati be converted into a Central grant, arguing that the burden should not fall on the State or farmers who parted with their lands.

The CPI(M) leaders highlighted a persistent issue affecting capital region farmers. They alleged that the banks were refusing to provide loans against the returnable plots allotted to them. Despite repeated appeals to authorities, the issue remains unresolved, causing significant financial strain. The CPI(M) leaders urged the government to take swift steps to ensure that banks begin sanctioning loans on these plots without further delay.
