Its been since my childhood. Cousin's dad is a farmer who went into shrimp farming some 20 years back in Ongole. He used to tell that Ongole to Madras to Thailand/Indonesia[processing] to Western countries almost for last 20 years. Now as you said maybe processing facility is in India itself. 

Few telugu people even bought big farms in Ecuador doing shrimp. So even if the shrimp comes from ecuador telugu hand might be there.

Lousiana lo shrimp farmers baaga unnaru. vallu could not compete with cheap shrimp imports from india. Valla kosame trump tariffs vesadu.

they could never compete due to the production cost being high...only option is to get them at better prices from Ecuador....Ecuador time nadustundi since last few years

not really. 25% cheaper anta from india . anduke trump 25% minimum on india and 15% on ecuador vesadu.

Tariff esuko anna. No issues but indians ni chinna chupu entuku. Be frank that we want to protect local industry.

One of my cousin do shrimp business, they do import to USA. He says they make good money with USA imports. I’m not sure how they are doing after tarrifs, I don’t think they are affected
