iTrainSAP Posted December 2, 2025 Report Posted December 2, 2025 Hello Bhayya.... In Laws visited us in 2023 and we applied for extension before 6 months stay. We were asked to give biometrics. We went and provided the biometrics and while the application is in progress they left the country. Would there be any problem to visit US again ? Anyone in the same boat ? Quote

Anyone in the same boat ? my MIL came in Dec 2020, we filed for extension and gave bio metrics in May'21 (before the 6 months duration) and application was in progress..she stayed for another 6 months and left in Dec'21. The final update of application came in Jun'22 and it was approved, but by then she was long gone. She came back early this year, no questions asked .. Quote

But you should be good...make sure they carry receipt notice and final approval which u should have received it by now. POE lo they may ask for approval or receipt notice that you already applied before I-94 expiry. Quote
tylor111 Posted December 2, 2025 Report Posted December 2, 2025 When someone files an extension on time, the stay is usually counted as lawful while the case is pending. Leaving the US before a decision often ends the request automatically, but it usually does not create a ban or punishment by itself. Future travel depends on how the officer views the situation. Clear proof that they applied on time, gave biometrics, and left without trying to stay long term helps. Many families have returned later without issues, but entry is always decided at the airport. Carrying all documents from the extension filing makes the next visit easier to explain. Quote
