It depends on how parents raise the kids. If both mom n dad r busy running after money, kids grow in their natural way…which is americanized. If parents invest time in their kids, outcome is a lot different. Have seen abcds that can read and write telugu very well, and know all the cultural aspects.

Takes lot of effort. If someone is passionate about Telugu and other stuff then yes. Not everyone is. For someone who is not passionate, you dont want them doing things they dont like. Parents' lives matter too.

I am an agnostic...dont have much interest in anything related to God as people usually switch off their minds when they involve God.

You misunderstood.

I do spend lot of time with kids. But try to keep the religion crap away from them. 

Telugu...as long as they can speak its fine. Problem with many parents is that emphasis on Telugu writing and other religious stuff is leading to less physical activity and play time with other kids. This is detrimental to childs development.

We focus on developing their passion and on being a producer rathar than a consumer, reading books etc.

Religion is not crap....its a way of life. I dont think u ever understood this basic concept. Bhagavadgita, Ramayana r books too...not just stories written by some random authors. You are mixing up religion with cultural things.. 

Religion is a personal thing and it differs from person to person and upto the individual family.

But cultural things should be promoted among new generations..

Eating Ugadi Pachadi for Ugadi or pongali for Sankranti is as cultural / traditional as much as  eating Turkey for Thanksgiving.

This is wrong on many levels.. Underestimating Kids abilities.

Not just Telugu, It is recommended for Kids to learn many langauges . Whats better than their mother tongue, which forms a solid base at home and to get in touch with roots?

Its understood not everyone has feasibility but it should not be advocated.

We dont tell their teachers in Foreign langauge class, that my kid will be only learning to speak spanish but wont learn writing. Do we?
