RajeshTrivedi5684 Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 I’m currently in the USA and planning to move back to India. I own a used car here and wanted to know if it is legally allowed to ship it to India. What are the customs rules, documents required, and approximate costs involved? Any guidance or personal experiences would be helpful. Quote

thokkalobokkalo Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago 150% of car value for customs, value is determined by customs based on India prices mostly, even though it starts with showing your invoice from USA. if you plan on daily driving it in India in a metro city (mum, del, hyd, che, blr etc) can't be older than 15 years. you will have to pay for steering conversion kit from LHD to RHD, which is usually around half of the price of the car too in most cases per RTO rules. you have 6mos to get it done or gets ceased i think. Friend wanted to take back his old honda s2000 coupe to India in 2021 and so this is what we discovered. check more. Quote
