mcdowl_murthy Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Have been doing some financial planning as I plan to move to India. Effectively you can generate a tax free income ( Include you and your wife ) of 24 Lakhs per annum with 2.8 crores or ( ~300k USD ). I feel thats more than enough for a family if you dont have school going kids and have a paid of home. Rest you can invest in equity for long term and forget. This bucket takes care of you life style and whatevet left after spending can be invested into equity again. Am I missing something ? Thoughts. Looking for a genuine discussion only. Trollers find something else. Quote

If you invest in RBI bonds you get 8.2% and if you split between you and your wife both get 12 lakhs zero income tax. Where is TDS @Spartan Quote

Kids education is not a retirement expense @Redarya. Edited 1 hour ago by merrooi Reference Quote

Where is TDS @Spartan FYI...NRIs are not eligible to buy all RBI bonds...only specific vi konochu. eligible aina bonds ...bisket rate untai..max 7% which is equal to Bank FD rate for NRI also avi mostly related to state or govt development related untai....project assam or shelf aite ...returns also gone and also TDS applies for anything gain over 1 Lakh..in this case.
