Trump messed up with tariffs firstly which impacted small- medium businesses and farmers and cutting down funding for research and he single handedly degraded the culture of America by brazen corruption using loopholes without even hiding ,quid pro quo in the open.

Global relations have worsened significantly but it was about to happen with or without trump as u.s.a started losing power,they have to flex for one last time to gain as much influence as possible before they lose their unanimous status.i believe it's doing of CIA rather than trump himself.

As you said, the key here is that US started losing power....mainly due to demographics and lack of immigration reform.

It has a huge problem with the Senate system which is holding America hostage by not letting any bill pass.

Contrary to popular opinion, US losing power accelerated under Biden.

Multiple wars started under Biden and US pulled Ukraine from signing a peace deal. His administration didn't even talk to Putin and froze Russian assets which is huge blow to US Dollar. The world woke up and started the acceleration of dedollarization. Noone were this vocal during Biden only because he is not a polarizing figure like Trump

Regarding corruption, it actually went down under Trump due to Doge and the recent attacks on money laundering operations.

Policywise the biggest blunder by Trump is not supporting clean energy...which is not in his hands as he leads Republican party. But I feel he could still have supported commonsense subsidies.

Tariffs make sense but the problem is that they should have been implemented 20-25 year ago.

Trans and Gay nonsense has died down under trump. I don't have any issue with them but the Dems were taking it too far.

Trump never intended to go too far in terms of immigration crackdown but the problem is that Republican party has become far right and outright racist. Stephen Miller is an idiot supporting these racists in ICE falsly saying that they have immunity over everything.

 

The need of the hour is Senate reform and a Centrist party.
