I was surprised. Laharika and her family stays in the lower apartment. She is picking up the clothes in the upstairs and she looked at me. Puzzled.

“Did u see sunil?”I asked
“no, he is not here.. ask in his house” she replied.
“ aunty, told me he went upstairs..” I replied.
“oh ok…he is not here..i think he went outside” she said me.
I said “oh” and I was standing there for few seconds. I don’t know why I was standing.
“Are u from XYZ college?” she asked.
“yea..how do u know??” I asked her pretending that as if I am seeing her for the first time.
“I saw u in the college” said laharika.
“oh..so u r also from the same college..by the way I am rehman” I said. I was going to shake hand. But didn’t.
“ iam laharika” she said by smiling. That’s it. My heart started pounding. Her smile had made my mind filled with intensified glory. I have never seen a face with such a lively smile.

It made me fly a little bit and while talking to her for the minute, I felt something different. It’s was exciting. In that excitement, I couldn’t talk a single word again. She was talking to me and I couldn’t hear a single word.

[b]Scene in the college corridor[/b]

After that I didn’t talk to her for one year. As she is from EEE branch and I am from ECE branch, I cannot see her often. I used to see her sometimes but we don’t talk each other. She smiles at me all the time when she looks at me.

As, I am the very fond of cricket, I used to arrange matches between EEE and ECE all the time. I went to their class to arrange a match and I was walking through the corridor in the college and the classes are going on. I went near her class and everybody is chit-chatting as the professor didn’t come yet. As I was walking, I saw her through the window and I have a feeling that my eye contact reached her. The next moment, she walked outside the class and stood in front of me with the same intensified smile. Then, my heart began to beat faster.

“Hi..how r u?” she said.
I was confused, but I thought it would be weird if I don’t talk and then started
“hey..i am good..how abt u?” I replied in a stuttering tone.
“I am ok.. I didn’t talk with you after you left from my house?” she asked
“ Yea..I was bit busy..How did u do in ur exam?” I asked her as we are having exams at that time.
“It was ok..but couldn’t sleep last nite..” she replied.
Then sir came into the corridor and she left saying “that’s my sir..bye”
I don’t understand why she came out of the class. I thought maybe she came out of class because she got some work. But, she was chit chatting with me.
I thought maybe she came to talk to me intentionally. Bit confused and then left the college.
