Firstly, Visual Studio IDE uses a cache on disk of all the installed project/item templates. I would suggest you to rebuild the cache. Please run devenv.exe /InstallVSTemplates via Start menu >> Run...
or
Start menu >> All Programs >> Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 >> Visual Studio Tools >> Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt.
