In a press release, the new President of the council M Jaswanth Reddy and Secretary Rosham Balu said that the council's aim is to make films that promote the culture, literature and arts of Telangana region. Apart from the President and Secretaries, L Srinath and RK (Mama) were elected Vice-Presidents, K Veeru joint Secretary and P Amreshkumar treasurer. The aim of the Telangana film council is said to be due recognition and encouragement to films based on Telangana subjects by the government stated the council members
