I think it would be very-good for you, if you can forget her asap. You made a mistake not by helping her 7 lks, but by thinking abt her in that-way. It's been so long that you guys are apart. May be there could be reason (for her) why she is keeping you away, which she mayn't tell you right way...whatever... To get any kind of relief (my personal advice for you is), "talk to your parents", not with your fiends.
