Sana who has been a prolific actress for the characters roles in the past one decade in Telugu cinema has done the villain's role in latest release Veedinthe. She is the main villain of the film. Here is our exclusive chitchat about her experience in working with this movie -
[b]Tell us about your character in Veedinthe?[/b]
I play the main villain of the movie. My character’s name is Ranga Nayaki who is referred by every body as Akka. She is a wily politician who aspires to become CM of the state. This is not the first time I had done a villain role. I have played the role of a villain in Sai Kumar’s Police Story 2. It was a mass film and a loud character. My role in Veedinthe is a class and sophisticated one.
Suseendran has seen my performance in Police Story 2 and got hold of my contact number. He has called me to Chennai for a make-up test and confirmed the role in a few hours. They asked me to immediately join the shoot. I had a commitment to attend TANA at that time. I flew from Chennai to USA for a couple of days, attended TANA and returned to Chennai. I join the shoot of Veedinthe from the next day. The producer has requested me not to act in TV serials during this period so that I look fresh on screen. I had to opt out of two of my own productions which were to telecast on Star TV Vijay. I declined all my TV commitments for the past six months. The producer and director wanted me to be a surprise package in the movie. Hence they didn’t reveal my character in publicity of the film. Since today is the release day, I am letting it known to every body. The Tamil version was released in the last week in Tamil Nadu. My performance was appreciated a lot by the Tamil media.
[b]Do you think exposure in TV media will impact actors' roles on big screens?[/b]
I am balancing it. I am doing roles selectively both in cinema and TV. Hence, there is no over-exposure. I have proved myself that I can carry any sort of role with Akka character in Veedinthe. I am looking for roles beyond mother/sister characters on big screen.
[b]Tell us about your experience in working with the team of Veedinthe?[/b]
Suseendra is a simple human being and a highly creative director. Producer PV Prasad is a highly professional producer and the production team makes sure that the artists are pampered. They are very good people to work with. Vikram is one of the best heroes I have ever worked with. There is no need for an actor of his stature to go and talk to junior artists. Vikram makes sure that he cares for the people around irrespective of their stature. He has also helped in delivering certain Tamil dialogues.
[b]What are your future projects?[/b]
I am currently doing Adhinayakudu (Bala Krishna), Ravi Teja film (Siva direction) and a film by Lucky Media. I am also getting good offers in Tamil films after the release of Rajapattai (Veedinthe in Telugu).
