If you can not take it, then you are not part of their group. As simple as that. Till their need is fulfilled, they might act polite or act as if they are genuinely interested in you and like you for who you are. But once they are settled down and have an assurance, they might desert you cos you are a MISFIT in their group. They might not express that in front of you. But that is what they might think behind your back. Anyway, it is very difficult not to expect thankfulness/gratuity when you help someone. But this is 21st century and you must realize that...what you give just goes into thin air. Expect Nothing. If it does, you are lucky. If your nature is helping nature, follow the above. If you think that is unfair, then charge for everything and anything you do and just see all human beings as objects of need and dont get emotionally connected. This way you wont get hurt.
