response does not go to web page after closing document(file) downloader/opener in java.....Any body can help me on this...

is it in a servlet or any framework action class? not sure though, but try anyone of the below lines, sory, didnt writee the correct syntax

testResponse.sendRedirect(path_to_file);

request.getRequestDispatcher(path_to_file).forward(request,response);

RequestDispatcher rd= getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(path_to_file);
rd.forward(request, response);

or based on the action only use return;
