Filthy Tongues Abound

No one expects polls to be decent any more. But this has been the most foul-mouthed election campaign in Andhra Pradesh ever.

It all started with the water tap war between TDP’s Roja and the PRP’s Shobha Rani, ably assisted by Pawan Kalyan. The exchanges would make even KCR blush. We have seen Chiranjeevi twirling his moustache, and then Balakrishna slapping his thigh in front of his sister Purandareshwari's house. We have heard of suggestive hints being thrown about women politicians serving chapala pulusu to their favourite leader.

To what depth are we going to plunge this time?

It's almost like each party, with the exception of the Congress, has appointed a foul-mouthed spokesperson (FMS) each for bootu rajakeeyam. There's Roja and Nannapaneni Rajakumari for the TDP,  and Shobha Rani for the Chiranjeevi party. And since no one can speak for KCR, he is his own FMS.

Here's a run down of the worst gaalis of this election so far.

Pavan divorced his wife and then married Renu Desai. So Harikrishna should declare the status of Junior NTR’s mother in their family.”
