Actually Salesforce has a complete podcast training that gives complete training on the module. Also you can create a SFDC developer account and do free development on Salesforce website and trian yourself.
One more option that my friends have done to get into Salesforce from other domain is take free/volunter work from non profit organizations for Salesforce and work for them. That way you work on real project and NOn-Profit Org will refer you for the work you do for them.
Salesforce hires people who have done this kind of work and they do H1B and PERM processing also for these resources.

I am interested to work for non profit organizations as salesforce developer as I am looking for H1 sponsorship. Can you please let me know how to search for jobs in such organizations. I need information regardin these things.
1. Any website posting requirements of such positions
