H1b visa interview help

Hi guys,

i have got my h1b petition approved in 2008. i did not attend the visa interview till now due to some reasons and i was never in usa till now. i want to attend the interview from india.

can anyone tell me will there be any timeperiod within which the visa interview should be attended.

Please tell me whether i can attend visa interview after 1.5 yrs after the petition is approved.

nenu india lo oka company lo pani chesstunnanu and i have applied h1b thru some consultancy.

when going to visa interview, do i have to resign my current employer?

is it just ok to continue for current employer and attend the h1b interview?.
