India Inc Worried Over New Us Restrictions Imposed On H1-B, L1 Visas

WASHINGTON: Indian government has stressed on India Inc's concern over the new US restrictions placed on H1-B and L1 visas and is also hoping that this trend won't continue for long as it will impact the Indo-US collaboration.
India's ambassador to US Nirupama Rao stated that both India and the US needs to work towards achieving world's largest trading relationship. The main aspect of India-US economic engagement is its tie ups in high technology areas. She also drew attention towards the concern of Indian businesses about the difficulties they witness due to strict visa norms.
She also said that in the past five years, Indian IT industry contributed $15 billion in taxes in the US.
