suspect it’s not the AC compressor but the belt on the alternator needs to be tightened or replaced. Here is why , as you apply electrical loads to a system ,the AC compressor being the biggest, the alternator is required to provide a much larger load in order to keep up with the current draw. First check the belt tension without the engine running, KEYS ON THE ROOF. There should be ¼ inch deflection of the belt at its mid-point if there is more tighten the belt, then start the engine and apply all electrical loads, AC ,headlamps ,blower fan etc. when the “Noise” appears simply spray some water ,with a squirt bottle, onto the belts as the engine is idling. If the noise subsides …..the belt needs replacement . Let me know how you make out.

kakatiya Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 @ARJUN FAN COMPRESSOR PROBLME AITHE SOUND BAGA VASTUDHI ANTA .. I'm not convinced its an amp draw problem and the compressor would make different noises if it was bad or the bearing was bad. When the a/c kicks in there is a physical increase in resistance and the squawking noise is fairly common but it is usually not hurting anything but your ears. I changed the belt tensioner and the belt on mine and it still made noise. That is when I got the spray dressing.
