hello everybody here ,

I need a advice on squealing noise coming from my A/C compressor belt( I guess, not really sure). the problem is there since the time I got the car, but I didn't give it much notice.

Here is the actual picture of the problem,

Every time I turn the fan nob ON while A/c is turned ON, I hear a slight squealing noise from the engine compartment which gradually builds up to a louder hiss as I raise the accelerator and fades away after 5 6 minutes as engine pick up the speed. It appears back again if stop at signals and start raise the accelerator again. To avoid that noise I turn off the fan nob and turn it ON after car gradually speeds up. It goes away in no time as soon as I turn OFF the fan nob. I did some research on the issue and found it can be problem with v-belt that runs the compressor or the actual clutch itself.

I am really not sure at the moment if I can wait and leave it like that or give it a immediate fix.

thanks.

this is your AC pump. it is gone. you need to change it. the AC pump is attached to the serpentine belt and hence the hiss noise. when you raise the car the pump moves back because of acceleration and hence got itself in position and makes no sound.when you stop/decelerate at the traffic light it get out of position again and hence the noise appears.
