kingmakers Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 The Praja Rajyam Party came in with huge expectations when it was formed but with each passing day, its shine began to fade and now it looks like the very existence of the party has come under threat. This is led by none other than megastar Chiranjeevi and it was expected that he would create a major landslide just like the legendary NTR when he established the Telugu Desam Party and stood for elections in the year 1983. However, all that charisma of Chiru seems to have taken the back seat with the huge amount of dissidence that grew within the party as soon as the tickets list was announced. The common complaint that most of the dissidents were making was the selling of the tickets at particular prices which sounded more like a business than a party giving tickets to the deserving and true leaders. With some key members already leaving the party, there is news that those who are still with PRP are waiting for the elections to get over and soon they would also be following a path out either to their original parties or somewhere else. This in itself will become a challenge for Chiru to hold on to the reins of the party and keep it together from falling apart. The brighter side is, those who are loyal to PRP say that the party has got all chances to play a key role in the formation of the next government and nothing will happen to its foundations no matter the developments in the past few days.
