Gap insurance eppudu cover avtundi antey ...for example u have a pending loan of about 20k on ur car and the current resale value of ur car is about 16k in this case ur gap insurance will cover the loss ($4k ) and u can get rid of the car without paying any extra money from your pocket...

oh ok...cool..i kind of get it now..one more question...my situation is kind of similar..i have 19k loan and my current value of car should be around 18k with 16k miles without accidents so if i get rid of the car now because of gap coverage i would just leave the car and waive my loan..in that case, from may 2011- aug 2012 i.e i payed like 15 months installments and enjoyed the car so if i go for it would it be still a loss for me ?

Entha undo chusukonu chusukunte naku heart attack vastundi..but during recession in 2008 i stopped paying for credit cards as min balance on each card was 150 and i had 6 cards with total 18k loan and i had no job for a long time so citibank vadu 6 months chusi accounts close chesadu and sent it to collections...i used to get 30-40 calls each day..worst period...ippadiki i get mails and calls but i ignored as i don't know how to deal with it...i tried to talk to collections guys but they always insisted me to pay 4000 , 6000 etc though i requested them i would pay like 500 $ each month..so i GAVE up...car 16.78% interest ki konna ekaika manishi in united states nenenemo but i thought i could increase my credit history this way...it was 650 when i bought the car last yr..i am planning to re-finance and see if my interest % comes down

yeah thats right , u can get rid of the car without paying extra bucks frm ur pocket mostly u wont get anything back from the payments that u made on ur car untill now ... Owning a car is always a liability so u cannot complain about losing money ... its a good thing that u got the gap insurance , how long is it valid ?
