First Collections, then Attorneys with Demand Letters then the third stage is court and conviction. This is inevitable, I usually work with collections to get my money from a few of my customers who owe me. There will be a chance to save yourself if you file bankruptcy, but again since you are working it will be a legal issue and you wont be qualified for that.. also to pursue bankruptcy you have pay your representing lawyer a fortune. Approach some arbitrators, these guys negotiate a deal between you and the creditor like what you were mentioning above which is beneficial for both of you. Anyhow the minimum you will be spending in very near future is not less than 5000$ get prepared.
