Joey_Tribbiani Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 ok bhayya naa current scenario idi .. is it possible or not cheppandii ... naa primary database nundi data disk snapshot technology dwara copy chesi vere host meeda i can bring up database , which is lets say secondary .. nenu secondary database meeda impdb/expdb use chesi export import chestanu .. lets say it took 24 hrs .. after that can i copy Archive logs from primary DB and recover it to point in time ? If not , what is the best way i can do exp/imp of 9TB database with minimum downtime

If not , what is the best way i can do exp/imp of 9TB database with minimum downtime [/quote] let me explain you in the better way lets say .. u have ur db running on HP Itanium machine .. now you want to migrate the database to Linux .. in this scenario .. u cannot apply archive logs generated on HP machine to the db created on Linux .. reason being HP Itanium's Oracle endian format is Big endian.. where as Linux's is small endian .. now u have only 2 options .. transportable tablespace tho migrate cheyatam or use export/import
