[/quote] yes it still occupies space but that doesnt mean we can access it. once you set it to unused, oracle will delete the definition of that column from the table. Hence oracle becomes unaware of any such existing column. oracle ki data definition lo ledu ante adi non-existing. thats simple unused enduku use chestaru ante, in most cases where dropping that column takes time. appudu danni unused chesi drop cheste easy ani aa option
