First H1 rejected for me . As I applied without the Client letter as inhouse project and my employer was an a$$hole at that time..

Second one.. Filed H1 B while I was in School in my Second masters..

Applied with client Letter and Vendor Letter and all other stuff.. no need of CPT or anything else at that point.. It worked for me..

so I am not sure if you need CPT to apply for a H1 if you have some Previous work experience and a Client Letter in the Current job..
