do this...

Try to run this command on your server "pwd"

pwd --> [b]P[/b]resent [b]W[/b]orking [b]D[/b]irectory

pwd --> this will give you the path of the dir in which tou are in


[b]like [color=#666600][size=2]/[/size][/color][color=#000000][size=2]AFDB[/size][/color][color=#666600][size=2]/[/size][/color][color=#660066][size=2]Users[/size][/color][color=#666600][size=2]/[/size][/color][color=#660066][size=2]Karthikeya[/size][/color][color=#666600][size=2]/[/size][/color][/b]

[b][color=#666600][size=2]then do this[/size][/color][/b]

[b][color=#666600][size=2]find `pwd`[/size][/color][color=#666600][size=2] -type f -name "a*" -print[/size][/color][/b]

[b][color=#666600][size=2]or [/size][/color][/b]

[b][color=#666600][size=2]find `pwd`[/size][/color][color=#666600][size=2] -type f -name "a*" | xargs ls -l[/size][/color][/b]

copy and paste the any of the above two commands. it should work for sure.

`pwd` will give the result of the command in the find command

eg:


find `pwd` -type f -name "a*" -print
./authorized_keys
./dir/ab.txt
./a1.txt
./a5.txt

eg

find `pwd` -type f -name "a*" | xargs ls -l

./authorized_keys
./dir/ab.txt
./a1.txt
./a5.txt

ala chesinappudu naaku andulo unna files anni kanipistunnayi...
Now I am only interested in files that start with letter [b]a[/b] in all those files...adi ela cheyyalo cheppu s%H#

there is a space b/w karthikeya and -name and -name and a and b/w find and the path

yes as told earlier, all my files are under root directory afdb

and when i just do ls on the root directory with all the sub directories I can see all the files..then when, I try the queries u posted it throws an error
