[color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]The catchy slogan ‘Vibhajana Vaddu (no to division), Samaikyandhra muddu (a united state is loveable), has gone viral amongst those agitating against the proposed division of the State.
Leaders of the Vishalandhra Mahasabha, a non-political organisation, fighting against division of the State made hundreds of schoolchildren raise the slogan at a rally organised on Mahatma Gandhi Road here on Thursday.
The children enjoyed shouting this slogan, which is also finding a place on all the posters and banners of Samaikyandhra movement.
Krishna district Samaikyandhra Political JAC convener Kolanukonda Sivaji, DCC president Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao, Samata Party former national president V.V. Krishna Rao and others spearheading the Samaikyandhra movement here, welcomed the Mahasabha leaders and brought them in a rally to the Sub-Collector’s office.
Mahasabha president Nallamothu Chakravarthi, addressing hundreds of schoolchildren who came to express their solidarity with the Samaikyandhra movement, said the unity of the Telugus was paramount in the movement.
The Antony Committee, which does not have a Telugu leader, had no value, he said, and made the children shout “Down down Antony Committee.”
Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader K Chandrasekhara Rao had come up with the slogan “Telanganawalla Jago, Andhrawalla Bhaago.” The reply to the slogan was “Teluguwalla Jaago, KCR bhaago,” he said, and made the children repeat the same.
Mr. Chakravarthi said there would be progress only if the State was united and confusion if it was divided. “Kalasiunte pragathi, vidipothe adhogathi” (there is progress in togetherness and chaos in division).
[b]‘Rajakiya sanyasi’[/b]
Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who said that he would quit politics if the State was divided, should change his surname to “Rajakiya sanyasi,” he said. Other Mahasabha leaders V. Ravi Teja and Srinivasa Reddy participated in the rally.
Mr Chakravarthi said the Mahasabha did not accept the argument of the elected representatives that they could more effectively oppose the division of the State while still in office.
[b]‘Quit or face the wrath’[/b]
He said it was time they all tendered their resignations and jointed the people’s movement.
If they did not do so, they should be ready to face the wrath of the people which was growing by the day, he added.
Mr. Sivaji said that being suspended from Parliament was not the same as tendering their resignation.
The Samaikyandhra activists would take the MPs to task if they come back to the State over the week and claim that they had made a big sacrifice.[/font][/color]
