katharnak Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) makes admissions, in its three IIITs at Basara, Nuzvid and RK Valley, on the basis of 'Mandal Best' model. Eighty-five per cent of seats are allocated to the candidates who studied in schools that are located in rural mandals in the state. The categorization of mandals into rural is in accordance with the classification made by the DISE (District Information System of Education) of the Directorate of School Education. In both the rural and state-wide categories, 70, 20 and 10 per cent of seats are allocated to students who studied in the governement /private/government residential schools.In a pressnote here, the RGUKT Registrar, Prof. S. Satyanarayana, stated that the list of High Schools in the state classified as rural and urban by the DISE and category of the school management are kept in the Rajiv Gandhi University website [url=http://www.rgukt.in]www.rgukt.in[/url]. Suggestions for corrections, if any, can be sent as per the procedure given in the website.The last date for receipt of suggestions for corrections in the prescribed procedure by the RGUKT is May 15.
