Alexander belongs to 323BC And also he being unaware of elephant warriors until 331 BC (war with Persian empire) adds to this fact there isn't much of cultural exchange between Asia and the west.

Porus got about 100 of them . Nandas got at least 6000 war elephants which hindered his forward march in to India.
