‘As Visakhapatnam is easily accessible by road, rail, sea and air ways, it should be made as the capital of newly formed Andhra Pradesh’ said CS Rao, the president of Prajaspandana, a voluntary organization at Vizag. CS Rao had mailed these factors to Shivaramkrishnan Committee, which is looking after to decide the state capital of Andhra Pradesh.

CS Rao had explained other factors also regarding the capital facilities at Vizag while speaking at a meeting held at Dwarakanagar Gandhi Center. There is vast land available between Madhurawada, Pendurthy, and Kottavalasa. He also reminded that all major states had built capitals in port cities only for example Gujarat, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

VVGK Murthy, retired manager of APIDC said that Visakhapatnam had abundant water resources and if required further more water will be available after the completion of Polavaram project.

AU VC (retired) KV Ramana, SS Shivashankar and others had participated in the meeting.
