‪#‎GDP‬ #2011 ‪#‎Visakhapatnam‬ ,,

Delhi & Kolkatta makes a Pair Surprisingly ‪#‎Chennai‬ in 6th & very close to Ahmadabad Bengaluru & Hyderabad can be close to each Pune & Surat leading to a good belt

The only city from Andhra Pradesh is ‪#‎Vishakhaptnam‬ in top 10 among 15.

Ps Surprisingly it`s d only city from top 15 GDP`s in country is not a part in the 100 smart city plan developed by ‪#‎BJP‬ led central government & ‪#‎TDP‬led state government however such conspiracies on Vizag was not a new in case & People of Vizag are also habituated for it by electing the non locals every time..!!

Huge outcry over capital decision

VISAKHAPATNAM: The decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to make Vijayawada the new capital has various people's groups in north coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema up in arms.

Worried that history will repeat itself, with Vijayawada hogging all the investments this time, leaving the two backward regions behind yet again in the development race, many feel the decision could fuel yet another statehood demand for Rayalaseema.

Alleging that Vijayawada would prosper at the expense of north coastal AP and Rayalaseema, SS Shiva Shankar, founder of Vizag Citizen's Forum and Uttarandhra Samrakshana Vedika, said, "These projects promised by our chief minister are not practically feasible. Every single penny from the Centre as well as the state coffers will be invested in the development of Vijayawada."

He further alleged that the loss of Hyderabad had really pinched the CM and some of his associates, which is why they wished to develop Vijayawada as the capital and mega urban conglomerate.

C S Rao, founder of another NGO, Praja Spandana, said Vizag would yet again be put up for sale. "Back in the 90s, funds and projects for Vizag were diverted to Hyderabad. The demand for an international airport in Visakhapatnam has been a long pending one. During the 90s, it was Naidu who buried this demand to develop Hyderabad, so that projects could be set up in Hyderabad and not Vizag. Funds were even raised by selling state-owned land in cities like Visakhapatnam to develop Hyderabad. Today, Naidu will not hesitate do the same to develop Vijayawada," said Rao.

While Rao expressed fears that Rayalaseema may eventually break away from residuary AP if it is not developed on priority, B A Srinivas, convener of the Dravidian University at Kuppam, said, "All the promises made by the CM sound very airy-fairy. As on today, his focus is on developing Vijayawada and from the looks of it, he will not hesitate to rob other regions of their due to do that. Most importantly, this could lead to a very strong anti-Andhra movement in Rayalaseema."

Agreeing to this, YSRCP MLA and AP public accounts committee chairman Bhuma Nagi Reddy too came out strongly against the CM. "All these plans concerning smart cities and mega cities look good on paper but do not make any financial or practical sense. As for making Vijayawada the capital, the decision is a historic blunder as it will only please a few. The people of Rayalaseema have closer ties with Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore than Vijayawada. Rayalaseema and north coastal AP will be exploited yet again. I won't be surprised if there is a popular movement for a separate Rayalaseema," he said.

Even the students of Andhra University expressed their angst over the decision. AU Students' JAC convener Areti Mahesh alleged, "What we are witnessing is a combination of the worst kind of regional and caste politics. Our CM is aware that his base is in the Vijayawada-Guntur belt. It was the arrogance of certain caste groups that eventually resulted in the bifurcation of AP."
