ARYA Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Naidu eyes Rs 30,000 Crore Chief Minister and soon-to-be grandfather N. Chandra Babu Naidu is leaving no brick unturned to make Seemandhra into Swarnandhra. Naidu is eyeing a whopping Rs 30,000 Crore investments in the truncated Andhra Pradesh. Naidu-led AP government has announced new IT plan for the state for 2014-2020. The main funda for the latest plan is PPP (Public Private Partnership). The objective is to encourage enthusiastic entrepreneurs by granting special subsidies. Aiming 5 Billion dollars and 4 lakh new jobs, the new policy is to rope in 5000 IT firms. 10 Lakh square feet area is specially to be allocated for this purpose. With the help of PPP, government wants to set up IT Zones, Electronic Hubs, Hardware Parks, and facilitate all the basic facilities, amenities to it through APIIC. For these, government will provide 24x7 hours electricity at subsidized rate and also free them from paying selling taxes. The firms will also be excluded from paying taxes like VAT and Registration. As part of the plan, government is coming up to set up 20 Electronic Manufacturing Clusters and will provide 50% special subsidy and all the necessary permissions will be given through a single-window. Government is chalking out plans to elevate Visakhapatnam as Electronic, IT Hub and Kakinada as Hardware Park. At the same time, it is determined to introduce special skill development sessions to hone the skills of students in order to meet industry needs.

ARYA Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 ‘High Court premises can be ready in three years’ It is likely to be located at Rushikonda or Kapuluppada in Vizag. Administrative sanction is awaited for construction of quarters for district and session court judges at Rushikonda (part of Madhurawada village). The city is abuzz with speculation on where the new High Court for Andhra Pradesh will be located after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu disclosed in the Assembly his government’s decision to establish it in Visakhapatnam as per the recommendation of Sivaramakrishnan Committee. The panel in its 187-page report stated availability of suitable government land on the city outskirts, legal professionals, law colleges and Damodara Sanjeevaiah Law University, making Vizag the most qualified place for new HC. The panel said that 100 to 140 acres is enough to house all the buildings required for HC and mentioned about connectivity advantage the city has. “Administrative sanction is awaited for construction of quarters for district and session court judges at Rushikonda (part of Madhurawada village). The same land with some super-structures or alternate sites available at Kapulauppada can be zeroed in on for the new HC complex,” Visakhapatnam Bar Association president J. Prithvi Raj told The Hindu on Wednesday. “The committee talked about five years but we are confident of making new HC operational within three years,” Mr. Prithvi Raj said.
