bio Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 other way around calculation for the toys problem above: it was given that final profit was rs 80 by increasing rs 2 on each toy in the problem therefore 80/2 = 40 toys were sold in order to make a profit of 80+900 = 980, this is how i approached the problem..
gabbarsingh1 Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 ok my calculations assumption 1, he purchased 45 toys @ 20 each = rs 900 out of 45 toys 5 got damaged, which was given meaning 40 toys were left for sale he made rs 980 by selling 40 toys as per assumption 1 900/40 = rs 22.5 for each toy (here rs 2.5 was added to each of the 40 toys to compensate the loss for 5 toys which is rs 100) rs 2 was added on each toy in order to make that profit of rs 80 so each toy was sold @ 24.5 * 40 = 980. I believe my logic z right here..confirmations please but initial # of toys 45 @ 20rs each idi final answer A man had Rs.900 and brought some toys with all the money. Out of which 5 toys were defected. He sold all the remaining toys by increasing the price by Rs.2 and made a profit of Rs.80.What is the no.of initial toys and the initial cost of toys? correct kaadu anukunta bro... aina 2 linear equations ki assumptions endi man... answer ni assume cheskoni... question ni change chestara evarina...
bio Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 Wrong...75 @12 each how??, it was given in the problem that for each toy there was rs 2 added to make a profit of rs 80, but according to you 75 toys @ 2rs profit = 150, which rules out the answer, correct me if m wrong.

bio Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 correct kaadu anukunta bro... aina 2 linear equations ki assumptions endi man... answer ni assume cheskoni... question ni change chestara evarina... assumption emundi akkada, antha given info ne kada use chesindi, it was clearly mentioned in the problem that rs 80 profit was made by increasing rs 2 per toy, which equals 40 toys, it was also given in the question that 5 toys were left out damaged, which brings up the initial # of toys to 45, correct me if m wrong.

Krish Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 Ok let me cross check 75 * 12 = 900 75 - 5 = 70 now...price up by 2 so 12+2 =14 so..70*14 = 980 Ok this is fine....as per cross checking...but 75 ela vachhindi??
