Tirupathi voters give bigger punishment to Chiru

The people in the state have handed out a resounding defeat to Chiranjeevi. He had grandiose illusions of storming to power in his maiden attempt like the late NT Rama Rao. However the voters thought otherwise.

While the voters in Palakollu may have punished Chiru by defeating him, the voters in Tirupathi have actually handed out a much harsher punishment to Chiranjeevi by electing him as their representative.

Losing an election is no big crime. Chiranjeevi in fact tried to equate himself with Indira Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao and NT Rama Rao by saying that even they lost the elections at one time or the other, a consideration which the party did not apply to Parakala.

If Chiru had lost in Tirupathi too, then it would have been actually a blessing in disguise for him. The loss of face would have been just temporary. People would have forgotten all about it and Chiru would have spent his time doing things he liked to do. By electing him, the people in Tirupathi have now forced Chiru to serve them as an MLA for five years.

Chiranjeevi has no option but to sit in the assembly as an ordinary MLA. He will have to face several embarrassing moments in the five years. For a man who ruled the film industry like a monarch, life as an ordinary MLA will be very tough and a humbling experience too.

I am not sure if chewing is allowed in assembly. Chiranjeevi appears to be chewing something a lot in press meets.
