FYI puranas are not history and they dont preach to do some thing they apply in your daily life and how things work: these are not the historical works of hitler and the jews, there are stories of every person and his natures starting from a warrior to a saint and every story has a hero and villian. All you are saying is history is written by some ruler based on winning a war, These are time tested rules and are not written based on someone winning and someone losing those are very minor things. Thesr are not rules set to society as such, had that been the case India would never been such tolerant.
