Special teams to speed up relief measures…

· CBN is pulling all stops to offer immediate help to people affected by the cyclone. For this purpose, he has formed 5 Special Teams comprising of higher government officials
· 100 tonnes of food has already been distributed until now
· All damaged communication equipment will be put back in order today evening
· More than 5 lakh people are being managed at the relief camps
· Affected people will be given 25 Kgs. rice, 1 Kg Sugar and 5 Litres stove

 

Immediate help for cyclone-affected…
CBN personally overseeing efforts in Visakhapatnam

· CBN has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 Lakhs for the deceased and Rs. 1 Lakh for the injured
· Rs. 25,000 for loss of livestock
· A financial help of Rs. 5000 will be extended to fishermen whose nets have been damaged and Rs. 10,000 in case of damage to boats
· CBN has urged the Centre to treat the devastation as a “national calamity” and requested for an adhoc assistance of Rs. 2,000 Crore pending evaluation of the damages
