This is a popular monument in the Rajasthan state in India. The stepwell consists of over 3500 steps down over 100ft to the water.

This village in Portugal has 828 inhabitants. The entire village was created around natural boulders. Many of these boulders are a type of granite.

Global Vipassana Pagoda

This is the tallest stone-only structure in the world. It is located near Mumbai and honors the practice of Vipassana, related to Buddhism. Not only that, but it is Gilded, and looks amazing. It was completed in 2009.

Suspended Temple of Mt. Hengshan

Also called the hanging temple, this Chinese holy place was built over 1500 years ago. This place is held together by oak crossbeams fitted into holes in the side of the cliff.

Featured in "Indiana Jones," this location is Petra's claim to fame. This was originally meant as a crypt. While looking impressive in size, the truth is that the inside has only one small chamber.

Leshan Giant Buddha

This incredible 233 feet tall statue of a sitting Buddha was started in 713 and finished in 803. It was carved into the side of a mountain!

Cliff Palace

The Pueblo people built this palace mostly out of sandstone in 1200 CE. It's now located in Colorado's Mesa Verde National Park. It has relatively small doorways because the people were smaller then.
