This is a popular monument in the Rajasthan state in India. The stepwell consists of over 3500 steps down over 100ft to the water.

Cave Monastery

This Georgian religious place was built in the second half of the twelfth century. This location has a number of significant wall paintings. It appears this location was used as far back as the Bronze Age.

The Alhambra

The beautiful Alhambra is located in Grenada, Spain. In English, its name is translated as "the red one." Originally a small fortress in 889, it was then upgraded to a palace in 1333 by a sultan.

Wooden Churches of Kizhi Island

This is historical site dating back to the 17th century. What is amazing is how long this structure has existed despite being made entirely of wood. In the 1990's it was listed as a World Heritage site.

From the 9th to 13th century this location was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan. At the city's peak, over 10,000 Buddhist temples existed there. Now only 2,200 temples remain.

This is a pre-Colombian pyramid north-east of Mexico. It is signifigant for it's many family compounds that once existed. This city was established around 100 BC.
