IMO, the fundamental problem here entirely lies with the viewer, because you start with the assumption that it must have been sourced just because you stumbled on it. In some cases, its quite possible that the maker hasn't even seen the original in question. And since the viewer doesn't know any better, he thinks story or a particular scene is everything. So even if a story is inspired, the makers don't want to admit to it. In reality, unless a film is recreated scene by scene, it cannot be accused as being copied from. Because every film has its own internal logic, and any element that doesn't sit well with that logic is going to stick out. Rajamouli's filims may have many flaws, like bad casting, bad dialogue writing, poor taste in music, but he cannot be accused of being a copycat. His films, although superficial, are some of the best TFI, and the southern film industries have to offer.
