lazybugger Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 The discrimination exits between the rich and the poor but not among the poor(anyways what would anyone gain by discriminating one another when they are fighting to make the ends meet) rich and poor, are probably demarcated in caste lines. I understand that you don't want to talk about caste discrimination in this db, but you should in your own dbs. I thought of that, after I posted this thread :)

sattipandu Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 upper caste agenda - improving irrigation (waste of water, because majority landowners are likely upper caste) tax subsidies to industries to attract them, when Hyd is naturally attractive even without them. again upper caste agenda about something on development. these are good to a certain extent, but celebrating them in a state where, as you say, almost half the population lives near Hyd is pushing the upper caste agenda without thought. waste of water -May be not the best resourceful use of water all the time but what else could that be used for? tax subsidies to industries to attract them, when Hyd is naturally attractive even without them- has it ever occured to you that, those are to keep competetive edge over neighbours who will soon follow the act of offering Sops isn't the fact that such a huge population lives around one city proof that they can't live in towns nearby? why is it so? Tunnel vision ??? I like a particular kind of movies that means i cant bear watching other one's what makes u think Hyd's massive population is an indicator of social unrest and opression in rest of TG towns?

I thought of that, after I posted this thread :) I dont understand what kind of discrimination you are talking about? I would be lying if tell there is no discrimination at all but what all i am trying to say is that it is not as widespread as it used to be 2-3 decades ago esp in villages becuase of their improved socio economic factors. Many understood the value of good education and getting better by day and hence the caste lines getting diluted. Personally i haven't denied friendship in school or college on the basis of a caste and infact one of my best buddy is a SC and I dont even know the castes of few friends .

I like a particular kind of movies that means i cant bear watching other one'swhat makes u think Hyd's massive population is an indicator of social unrest and opression in rest of TG towns? I didn't say its an indicator of social unrest. It is an indicator of lack of economic activity outside of Hyd, which means non cooperation among people.do they suddenly become caste free when they land in hyd- No :) I think that they are unaware of the caste issues, which I think is a worse problem than having warring castes in a state.landing in Hyd gives them a good environment to flourish. Doesn't mean we let the issue fester outside of Hyd.
