Tyrannosauraus_Rex Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Very informative thread. Certainly has driven me to change my decision to drive a lot less slower here in VA. Normally where I live here in VA - this is what cops go by "Over 9 you are fine, over 10 you are mine". In general I do 10 over the speed limit. But when I go to work - there is a 2 mile section of Interstate where the speed limit is 65 but I do 80 to 85. This is because it's generally less clogged by traffic and both sides of the Interstate is covered by dense forest growth where cops cannot hide. Luckily, I've never been caught by cops. But I realize it still is a needless risk. There was one time where I was driving in a HOV lane during the restricted hours slightly over the speed limit- but again the cop never stopped me. Guess it was my lucky day. Either way I agree with the consensus here that it's always better not to overspeed whether it is in VA or not.

PichiPyune Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 if you plead not guilty.. you will attend a court hearing, if you cant prove your side of story, end up paying fine with suspended license. if you plead guilty, depends on judges mood to charge you!
