SSR is okay man. Maniratnam is better than okay. both are bad. Maniratnam has better aesthetic tastes, visual and aural, since he's from the elite of the elite.

 

I know some don't like Mani's movies. But it doesn't take away from the kind of command he has on the medium. I don't think Rajamouli has it.

 

With or without AR Rahman, Maniratnam would have made decent films. He would have found some one else.

 

This thread is only about Charan growing as an actor. Mani can help him - It's a surprise he chose him in the first place. It means he thinks he can use Charan somehow in his movies. I just think Charan should've taken the opportunity, instead of making commercial calculations.

baahubali teeyataaniki talent kante, opika kaavaali. SSR awesome. but his awesomeness is in particular strand of filmmaking.

 

again going back to the original post, working with Mani will expose actors to better their craft than working with SSR. I'm not saying Mani is the best there, just that he's better than SSR.

 

anyway Mani aims for something higher man. Baahubali has a crap story. Ponniyin Selvan, which Mani wants to make is as big as Mahabharata in scale. and is partly historical.

 

Mani won't make it, if he can't make it upto his standards.

Sudeep acting horrible sir, horrible. he spoilt the entire movie. To an extent Nani too. Samantha was gracious, mostly.
